Washrack Technician

National Tank Services, a division of Trimac Transportation, is currently seeking a Washrack Technician in Trail, BC. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone who has shop experience and a passion for safety.

Pay:
  • $22.45per hour
  • $2.00 shift premium for weekends
Shift/Schedule/Hours:
  • Wednesday - Saturday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.
  • Training will take place Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (for first few months)
Responsibilities:
  • Exterior washing and assisting with internal cleaning.
  • Hose testing/cleaning.
  • Pump flush.
  • Operation of hand tools.
  • Wash work orders.
  • Assist in wash order scheduling.
  • Boiler operation and maintenance of pumps, etc.
  • Identify wash orders to be completed and know your limitations.
  • Comfortable working either outdoors (Appropriate gear is provided).
  • Able to help with shop/parts when not washing units
Skills:
  • Positive and strong work ethic.
  • Must be ok working from heights over 20 ft.
  • Positive attitude and job performance.
  • Shop experience, including working around steam equipment.
  • Must be capable of working in wet and humid conditions and exposure to normal wash rack cleaning materials.
  • Basic understanding of shop safety, shop work practices, mechanical systems, and use of hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator
  • Will need to have biannual lead tests
Educational Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
