Tank Trailer Mechanic

We're looking for a Tank Trailer Mechanic Technician for our shop in Louisville, KY. If you're looking for a safety-oriented company, partner with National Tank Services!

Pay:

• Up to $35/hr (based on experience)
• Tool Reimbursement program (after 2 years)

Schedule/Hours:

• 1st shift
• 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
• Monday- Friday

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Preventative maintenance on trailersand commercial trailers/trucks
• Preventative maintenance checking tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, clutch/linkage, starting system, electrical systems.
• Trailer repair duties typically include checking running gear including brakes, tires/wheels, air systems, suspension, electrical systems and lights.
• Registered inspector (with verifiable experience) Trailer HM183 inspections are performed at this shop, will not be requirement for the position but there will be an opportunity to learn these will present if desired to learn this aspect of trailer repairs. Understand and can demonstrate how to perform Method EPA27 and can accurately fill out the necessary paperwork.
• Truck and trailer DOT inspections in accordance with 49 CFR

Experience/Requirements:

• Valid Driver's License or ID
• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-5 years of verifiable experience working on trailers
• Trailer HM183 inspection experience preferred
• Basic hand and air power tools
• No driving violation involving the consumption of illegal or intoxicating substances in the past 3years

Other Job Details:

• May work above shoulder level with power and/or hand tools weighing 15lbs or less and in confined spaces
• Must meet physical requirements of the position and have mobility, vision, hearing, and sense of smell and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties performed
• May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift, and carry items weighing 50lbs or less
