Pay Details
- Journeyman rate $53.91/hr
- $1,000 monthly, Northern Living Allowance
Schedule
- 1 week on, 1 week off
- 6:00pm to 6:00am (Night Shift)
Job Details
- Safe and professional work practices are mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand written instructions and communications and write job reports, work order summaries, and other record-keeping functions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself professionally
- Able to perform duties in all weather conditions
- Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems (troubleshoot)
Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance on commercial trailers
- Ability to diagnose and fault trace complex systems /issues
- Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
- Preventative maintenance on checking tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, electrical system, PMs, electrical work, brakes, suspension.
- Follow safe work procedures and use proper PPE
- Preventative maintenance on the trailer
- Follow safety and use of proper PPE
- Follow all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies, procedures, and generally accepted work practices relating to tanker trailer shop operations
Qualifications
- Journeyman Trailer Mechanic
- CVIP Certification is an asset
- Two years verifiable mechanic experience
- Operation of hand and air tools
- Must be physically fit and reasonably strong enough to perform required duties
- Computer keyboarding skills and a basic understanding of computer business systems is desirable
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Positive work ethic and attitude
