Pay Details

  • $22-40 per hour / based on experience
  • R-stamp certified starting at $38/per hour

Schedule

  • Monday- Friday
  • 7:00 am- 3:00 pm

Responsibilities

  • Weld and fabricate on powered tractor vehicles and trailers while utilizing personal safety equipment as required
  • Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on tractors, tanker trailers, and components
  • Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units, following blueprints and layout specifications
  • Set up and operate fabricating equipment, such as brakes, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components
  • Inspect and examine work pieces for defects to ensure conformance to specifications
  • Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and other alloys
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to obtain the required configurations and positions for welding
  • Select torches, torch tips, and filler rods, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals
  • Handles certain aspects of shop operations including, but not limited to, completing automated work orders, customer service and communication, direct and indirect labor accountability, and ensuring quality control and shop safety
  • Road test completed work for quality and adherence to established procedures/specifications
  • Performs shop clean-up and housekeeping responsibilities as well as other miscellaneous related duties as assigned
  • Punctual and regular physical attendance is a minimum requirement of this position

Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license is required and a CDL would be a plus.
  • R-stamp certified preferred
  • Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and out-of-service parameters for tractors, trailers, and accessorial equipment.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used to repair and maintain equipment including, but not limited to welding guns, torches, torch tips, hand shields, welding shields, welding equipment, torque wrench, brake calipers, micrometers, basic engine and vehicle repair tools, air compressors, and air-powered tools.
  • A basic knowledge of tractor and trailer repair along with suspension, and chassis components.
  • Knowledge of proper procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
  • Possesses and demonstrates the ability to perform assigned tasks in a manner that adheres to the company Safety, Health, Environmental and Security policies

Pay Range

USD $22.00 - USD $40.00 /Hr.
