Job Details
- Safe and professional work practices are mandatory
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself professionally
- Able to perform duties in all weather conditions
- Aluminum welding, Stainless steel welding, multiple positional welding required
- Weld, Fabricate repair trailer’s structure and aggregates
- Preventive maintenance on trailers and commercial trailers/trucks
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
Responsibilities
- Professionally maintain equipment.
- Follow policies & procedures.
- Work safely, using directed PPE.
- Complete tasks in a timely fashion as per the Standard Repair Time Guidelines.
- Maintain fleet equipment.
Qualifications
- Journeyman certification required
- Two years of verifiable welding experience - Must be able to weld Mig, Tig, and SMAW.
- Aluminum welding, Stainless welding - multiple positional welding is an asset.
- May work above shoulder level with power and /or hand tools weighing 15 pounds or less and in confined spaces.
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position and have mobility, vision, hearing, sense of smell, and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties performed.
- May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift, and carry items weighing 50 lbs. or less.
- Must be willing and able to work at heights up to 15 feet.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
