Pay Details

  • Journeyman rate $53.91/Hr
  • $1,000 monthly, Northern Living Allowance

Schedule

  • 1 week on, 1 week off
  • 6:00pm to 6:00am (Night Shift)

Job Details

  • Safe and professional work practices are mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand written instructions and communications and write job reports, work order summaries, and other record-keeping functions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment and common sense and conduct him/herself professionally
  • Able to perform duties in all weather conditions
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems (troubleshoot)

Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on commercial trailers
  • Ability to diagnose and fault trace complex systems /issues
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
  • Preventative maintenance on checking tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, electrical system, PMs, electrical work, brakes, suspension.
  • Follow safe work procedures and use proper PPE
  • Preventative maintenance on the trailer
  • Follow safety and use of proper PPE
  • Follow all relevant safety and compliance regulations, policies, procedures, and generally accepted work practices relating to tanker trailer shop operations

Qualifications

  • Red Seal is an asset.
  • CVIP Certification is an asset.
  • Two years verifiable mechanic experience.
  • Operation of hand and air tools.
  • Must be physically fit and reasonably strong enough to perform required duties
  • Computer keyboarding skills and a basic understanding of computer business systems is desirable
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Positive work ethic and attitude
