Pay Details

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This is a 40-hour, five-day-per-week position with a hybrid work schedule.

 

Job Details

This role is primarily responsible for managing the Canadian tax compliance of income, tax accounting and GST/PST within Trimac. This role reports to the Director of Tax and interacts regularly with operation, accounting and treasury team members.

Responsibilities

This position is mainly responsible for:

  • Prepare annual Canadian federal and provincial tax filings and ensure timely filing of tax returns and installments
  • Prepare or review annual and quarter tax provision process including the provision of adequate support for financial reporting and note disclosure
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly indirect tax filings and identify opportunities to optimize tax payables while mitigating tax risks
  • Assist tax due diligence review and related tax planning for M&A transactions
  • Proactively seek out and develop solutions to mitigate income and sales tax risks and identify opportunities to minimize tax liability
  • Research and prepare tax memos in support of tax technical positions taken in statutory filings
  • Technical support for the income tax and sales tax compliance
  • Represent Trimac in resolving CRA tax audits

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA with 2-4 years post designation experience
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, self-motivation and inter-personal skills
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to concurrently manage and progress multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of systems including ERP (Microsoft Dynamics)
