Job Details
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruitment in support of Trimac's U.S. Driver hiring initiatives. Partnering closely with Operations leaders, Terminal Managers, and business stakeholders, this role delivers a consultative, high-touch recruitment experience while ensuring hiring practices are efficient, compliant, and candidate-focused.
Operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, the Talent Acquisition Specialist supports the attraction, sourcing, and hiring of qualified CDL drivers across multiple U.S. business lines and regions. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong driver pipelines, reducing time-to-fill, and supporting business growth through effective talent acquisition strategies. The position reports to the Manager, Talent Acquisition and works closely with Operations, People & Culture, and Shared Services teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment for CDL and professional driver positions across multiple U.S. regions and business lines.
- Partner with Terminal Managers, Operations Leaders, and other stakeholders to understand workforce requirements, hiring priorities, and staffing forecasts.
- Provide consultative guidance on recruitment strategies, labor market trends, driver availability, and competitive hiring practices.
- Deliver a high-quality, consistent candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance and onboarding transition.
- Proactively source qualified drivers through multiple channels including Tenstreet, job boards, referrals, social media, networking, and direct outreach.
- Build and maintain active talent pipelines for ongoing and hard-to-fill driver positions.
- Conduct candidate screening, qualification assessments, and interview coordination to ensure alignment with operational requirements.
- Support recruitment marketing initiatives and employer branding efforts focused on attracting professional drivers.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and hiring activity to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure recruitment activities comply with applicable federal, state, DOT, and company hiring requirements.
- Support standardized and scalable recruitment processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate candidate records, recruitment documentation, and reporting within the Applicant Tracking System and related platforms.
- Partner with People Operations, Safety, Compliance, and Shared Services teams throughout the hiring process.
- Contribute ideas and feedback to improve driver recruitment strategies, sourcing techniques, and the overall candidate experience.
- Stay current on driver recruitment best practices, industry trends, market conditions, and competitive intelligence.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3–5 years of Talent Acquisition experience, preferably in transportation, logistics, skilled trades, or high-volume recruitment environments.
- Experience recruiting CDL drivers or other safety-sensitive positions is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site or geographically dispersed hiring initiatives is considered an asset.
- Strong sourcing, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using Tenstreet, Applicant Tracking Systems, and recruitment technologies.
- Strong understanding of driver qualification requirements, DOT regulations, and transportation industry hiring practices is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
