The Safety Specialist, (NTS) will be responsible for making practical safety improvements such as buying a sign and installing it; taking action to implement fixes rather than simply recommending them. This role will work closely with Shop and Wash Rack Managers, Operations, the Certified Industrial Hygienist, and Customers to ensure safety standards are upheld and continuously improved.
Responsibilities

- Plans & procedures: Write Emergency Action Plans and other localized regulatory policies; maintain site safety binders and signage.
- Audits & inspections: Perform facility/equipment/permit inspections; generate findings; execute corrective actions promptly (don’t just assign).
- Investigations (lower severity): Assist with fact‑finding and implement corrective actions; escalate patterns and high‑risk issues.
- Customer & operations support: Prepare for customer audits, participate in reviews/toolbox talks, and provide simple, plain‑language guidance.
- Reporting: Log JTOs/interactions, training completions, drill outcomes, and corrective actions; keep documentation audit‑ready.
- Support: Support operations team members, this position cannot take an “audit on the desk” approach.
- This position is based in Mississauga/Montreal (Eastern Canada)

- Working knowledge of key safety programs and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, respiratory protection, powered industrial trucks, and product-handling protocols.
- Bilingual (French/English) required for positions in Mississauga and Montreal.
