Job Details
The Information Technology (IT) Intern will support Trimac’s IT team across multiple functional areas, including user support, application support, programming, business intelligence, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to the technology systems that enable our operations across North America.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student who wants to gain real world experience in enterprise IT within a large, operational organization while contributing to projects that enhance system performance, user experience, and data-driven decision-making.
This opportunity is ideal for a student currently enrolled in an Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related program.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the IT team, assisting with ticket resolution and user inquiries
- Support end users with hardware, software, and system-related troubleshooting
- Assist with application support and system configuration activities
- Contribute to small-scale programming or development tasks under team guidance
- Support data validation, report development, and Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives
- Assist with documentation of processes, system updates, and technical procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and user experience
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technology-related projects
- Assist with testing, upgrades, and implementation activities as required
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, and troubleshooting concepts
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; exposure to data tools, SQL, Power BI, or programming languages is an asset
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Eager to learn and comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
Program Eligibility
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution and available from May to August
- Returning to school following the summer term
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada (Citizen, PR, or valid work permit)
