Labourer

We are looking for a labourer for our shop in Dundas, ON. Bulk Plus Services a division of Trimac, is a North American leader in transloading and logistics. With over 10 locations, Bulk Plus Logistics offers career progression, competitive pay, benefits, and job security.

Pay: $22.00+/hour based on experience.

Shift Details: 8-hour shifts, Mon-Fri with OT available.

Hours: 4:00 am - 12:00 pm/12:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

  • Tow motor certification is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving product.
  • Operate cement packing machine and related operations based on laid down SOP.
  • Ensure the cleaning of loading machines, packing machines and the floors and its surrounding areas.
  • Clean the packing machine with compressed air as required.
  • Count and record finished and rejected bags of cement.
  • Adhere to company policies & procedures (as per training)
  • Work safely, using company-issued and directed PPE
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Complete tasks in a timely fashion as to the Standard Operating Guidelines
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions all year round (hot and cold)
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks regarding production reports, timekeeping etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Strong and effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Basic knowledge of cement production process.
  • Good knowledge of the cement packing machines/ functions and procedures is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
  • Operation of hand tools/tow motor/forklift experience.
  • Operation of air tools.
  • Positive work ethic.
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work independently, unsupervised and as well as in a team.
  • Positive attitude & job performance.

Requirements:

  • May work above shoulder level with power and or hand tools weighing 40kgs or less.
  • Must meet physical requirements of the position and have mobility, vision, hearing, and sense of smell and dexterity levels appropriate to the duties performed.
  • May stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 40lbs or less.

Educational Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid class 5 license required.
  • TDG/WHMIS Certification (training to be provided).
  • On the job training provided.
