Reporting to the Manager of AP and Cost Accounting, the Financial Analyst is responsible for maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset ledgers and cost accounting processes. The job description below reflects the shared knowledge and responsibilities of all entities. This position has no direct reports.


  • Help with managing daily activity in the department by providing support as necessary.
  • Understand cost accounting & parts inventory reconciliation - accounting, processing, analysis, and deadlines to facilitate process improvements.
  • Balance shop systems and general ledger daily.
  • Maintain fixed assets for both US and Canadian companies.
  • Process asset module transactions, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Maintain the asset register to ensure it is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations for fixed assets work-in-progress accounts.
  • Prepare monthly standard journal entries.
  • Analyze financial results and variances.
  • Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
  • Other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned - create unique reports, assist other departments with technical knowledge.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Working towards CPA designation preferred with 1-2 years experience;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Intermediate Excel skill level; and
  • Strong knowledge of systems, including ERP (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics).
